Am I a candidate for Invisalign?
A good candidate for Invisalign is over the age of 12 and wants to straighten their smile or correct their bite issues. Patients should have a good understanding of realistic expectations for their results and be in good dental health, with a smile free of teeth decay or gum disease. Invisalign requires patients to wear their aligner trays for at least 22 hours a day, requiring a solid commitment to the treatment plan. Patients should also have an excellent at-home oral health routine to adequately care for their teeth and keep them free of decay and gum disease during their treatment.

How does Invisalign work?
While traditional braces use wires and brackets to slowly move the teeth into their new places, Invisalign uses clear plastic aligner trays. The patient wears the trays, which come in a series, one after another until the end of treatment. The trays use constant, subtle pressure placed onto the teeth to move them throughout treatment. Patients see their dentist about once every six weeks for maintenance and checkups, compared to once a month with traditional braces.

Invisalign Treatment in Miami Lakes, FL
Before your Invisalign process begins, your dentist takes a 3D model of your mouth to send to Invisalign’s laboratories. The lab creates a video, showing you exactly how and when your teeth will move throughout treatment. The video also includes a mock-up of your final results. After your approval, the lab creates your aligner trays and sends them back to your dentist. At this point, your treatment begins after a short lesson in how to insert, remove, and clean the trays.
